KNOX Education Videos

We were given the challenge of creating a set of videos that explain KNOX products to an audience with beginner to intermediate knowledge of secure computing.

These videos were used for education and marketing purposes.

My Role

I iterated on scripts and illustrated many storyboards for the videos. I elicited feedback from the Visual designer, product mangagers, experts, and audience participants. This feedback guided my direction as I re-wrote and redrew the scripts and storyboards.

marketer.jpg

The Marketer

A brand new hire on the marketing team at company X who needs enough knowledge accurately describe the product to potential customers. Demonstrates a bare-bones level of knowledge about the products and the technology.

Key Findings

Simplified Visuals are more useful than literal diagrams in helping the audience understand the complex interplay between software and hardware.

Common terminology used by experts within the security field isn’t as effective as using analagous vocabulary when trying to convey the general concept.

IT Administrator.jpg

The IT Adminstrator

A generalist with a decent amount of knowledge about the software and hardware of the trade.

Demonstrates a moderate advanced level of knowledge about the nitty-gritty inner workings of the software and hardware.

Difficult problems that require expert knowledge are communicated to the specialists.

Key Findings

Don’t just tell the audience how it works; show them how the system works normally and how KNOX intervines.
